ABOUT HOPE COHN PROJECTS
We are proud to partner with Hope Cohn Projects at Broadstone Yards. Curating art from local Atlanta artists, Hope Cohn Projects understands that artists are important, that art is crucial, and that the way in which art is presented is vital. We know that art tells a story and that artists, through their own creative styles, illustrate and capture the essence of a narrative. Through understanding artists and their work, we are able to connect the unique story of the community and the neighborhood with the art that complements it.
Michael Jones’s artistic energy can’t be matched. Through eye-catching series of abstract painting and sculpture, Michael Jones expresses strong emotion through his use of color. Michael’s work focuses on the constant hustle and bustle of modern city life, triggering emotions that can only be expressed in an abstract form. He captures the essence of the present by creating a constantly changing image through the eyes of an artist. A lot of things can be said about city life, but as Michael shows, it’s a lively and colorful thing.
John Tindel has been making art in Atlanta for more than a decade now. Whether you’ve seen one of his exhibitions, visited his studio spot at the Goat Farm or successfully chased after one of his #FAFATL pieces, Tindel is a veteran around these parts. His wood blocks often display quotes from his grandparents or metaphors about Southern rap, all spray-painted in vivid colors. Tindel's work tackles social, economic and creative issues with his unique imagery, highly admired wit, and hunger for what he describes as the mega-painting.
Lacey Longino’s paintings resemble her personality — vibrant, colorful, and exuberant. Specializing in oil painting and pastel drawing, Lacey is responsible for many of the vibrant bursts of color you will see featured at Broadstone Yards. http://laceylongino.com/VIEW ARTWORK
William Massey is the real deal. A freelance artist, sculptor, creative entrepreneur, and a co-leader of art programs within social organizations and health facilities throughout the city of Atlanta, GA, William initially found his voice through art during his time at Valdosta State University, receiving his BFA in 2012. From glassblowing to teaching art to homeless youth, William gradually evolved into a force of creative connection in Atlanta - utilizing the power of art to unify commu-nities, uplift public spaces, pursue social and racial reconciliation, and creatively comfort those in hardship. Inspired by William? Trust me, we are too.
